World Book Day at TCES

Pupils celebrate World Book Day by dressing up as book characters and expressing their love of reading!

Pupils dressed down in their favourite book characters on Thursday 7th March to show their love of reading. This allows pupils to use literature in a more interactive way and promotes reading culture within the school community. It is important to continue nurturing a supportive environment that values and celebrates the importance of books and storytelling. TCES North West London school participated in the ‘decorate their classroom doors’ competition for their favourite book characters. 

TCES North West London embraced the spirit of World Book Day through a classroom decoration competition centred around favourite book characters. This activity not only encouraged creativity but also reinforced the importance of literature within the school community. Furthermore, at TCES Create in the Community, the celebration continued with teachers and students dressing up as their favourite book characters and engaging in activities such as sharing book reviews. This collective enjoyment of literature helps to foster a supportive environment that values and celebrates the importance of books and storytelling. Overall, these initiatives highlight the commitment of both schools to promote a love of reading and literature amongst their pupils, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for storytelling. 

Meanwhile, TCES East London school pupils embraced the spirit of World Book Day through inviting an author, Emeka Egbuonu, who is a captivating storyteller who will transport students and young people into a world of inspiration and motivation. Through the art of storytelling, we create a profound connection that leaves a lasting impact. This activity not only encouraged creativity but also reinforced the importance of literature within the school community. Additionally, one of our pupils dressed up as Tinkerbell from Peter Pan added an extra touch of magic to highlight the occasion. 

Furthermore, at TCES Create in the Community, the celebration continued with engaging in activities such as sharing book reviews. This collective enjoyment of literature helps to foster a supportive environment that values and celebrates the importance of books and storytelling. Overall, these initiatives highlight the commitment of both schools to promote a love of reading and literature amongst their pupils, fostering creativity & collaboration.
