Celebrating Inclusion and Determination at TCES East London

At TCES East London School, inclusion is more than a value it’s a way of life. This year’s Sports Day showcased that beautifully through the inspiring story of Wilson, a student who has overcome significant challenges.

Just two years ago, Wilson faced difficulties with movement and confidence that made physical activity a real struggle. But with determination, encouragement, and the support of our dedicated staff, he began a journey of personal growth gaining strength, improving coordination, and becoming fully involved in PE lessons.

This summer, Wilson stood proudly at the starting line of the 80-metre sack race, not as a spectator, but as a competitor. With our Headteacher Mr. Blake walking beside him for part of the race, Wilson crossed the finish line to a chorus of cheers. Though he came last, it was a truly victorious moment, celebrating how far he has come.

Wilson’s journey is a powerful reminder of our school motto: Never Give Up. His resilience inspired everyone present and perfectly reflects our commitment to inclusion, progress, and belief in every learner.

We are incredibly proud of Wilson and all he has achieved.
