Exceptional North West London School Student Opens His Own Coffee Business In London

We’re proud to share that one of our incredible students at TCES North West London School has been featured in a London news story for starting his own successful coffee business!
Matthew, who joined North West London School in 2020, had previously struggled in mainstream education. Since joining TCES, he’s found the support and inspiration he needed to thrive, and now he’s running his very own coffee van business.
Matthew was inspired to become an entrepreneur after giving a presentation about his dad’s business for a Level 2 Speaking & Listening exam, encouraged by his teacher, Miss Afia. He later joined The Hub, our high-street café run by post-16 students, to gain real-world experience. With training and support from our post-16 lead, Miss Irena, our Careers Lead Niota Cover, and the North West London School team, Matthew learned barista and customer service skills and even gained his Level 2 Food & Hygiene qualification.
He now sells coffee at local car boot sales and is continuing his studies at TCES North West London School.
