CULTURE WEEK AT NURTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Last week, TCES Nurture Primary School, students explored different cultures from around the world through art, music and food! To start off the week, pupils took part in an Art Workshop with our Creative Arts Lead, Nuno, making masks from around the world. Some of the mask styles they created included African tribal masks, Balinese masks, and Mexican Día de los Muertos masks. The children loved getting creative and learning about the different meanings and traditions behind each design.
Then students took part in a Drumming Workshop, where each class got to have an hour session with the instructor and practice different beats on a range of drums. The school was filled with rhythm and excitement as the children worked together to create fun and energetic sounds.
Later in the week, staff and students brought in food from all different cultures, including plantain, puff-puff, and Polish dumplings (pierogi). The children got to try lots of new and different foods, stepping out of their comfort zones and discovering new favourites.
Culture Week was a fantastic celebration of diversity, creativity, and community at Nurture Primary!
