Celebrating Success On GCSE Results Day

Today, TCES is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students as they receive their GCSE results, a milestone that reflects not only academic success but also their personal growth and determination.
Many of our young people joined TCES at a time when mainstream education wasn’t meeting their needs. Some arrived with gaps in learning, limited confidence, or the belief that academic success was out of reach for them due to their SEND needs. Yet today, they stand as shining examples of what can be achieved when students attend a truly inclusive school, where we never give up, we never exclude.
Across our schools, students have achieved results they should be proud of, opening doors to further education, apprenticeships, and employment. We have loved being a part of each of their unique journeys supporting them to take the steps to where they are today and we can’t wait to see them further thrive in their next steps.
We congratulate every one of our GCSE achievers and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next. Their successes today are just the beginning of even greater things to come.
K’Dee Bernard, Deputy Head Teacher for East London School: “We are so proud of the results the students have achieved for their GCSE’s this academic year. We have observed improved grades in comparison with last academic year and witnessed some fantastic success stories. A student joined us in post-16 via a referral that came after an open day visit, coming from a mainstream school where he previously obtained a GCSE grade 1 in English and a grade 1 in maths. Through the hard work, dedication and determination of the young person, subject teachers and supporting staff, after only 1 year he was able to obtain a grade 4 in maths and a grade 5 in English. What an achievement!
We also witnessed one of our Y11 students hold their breath as they opened their results hoping for 5 GCSE grades they needed to successfully enrol in their animation course. Following this, he was punching the air with his strong English and Maths results and Grade 5 combined Science result.
We could not be prouder of the young people at East London School and the amazing progress they have made. We know there are bright futures ahead for all pupils, well done to all!”
Steve Speck, Head Teacher for North West London School: “We are delighted that our students have performed strongly in their GCSE / A level results. This is a testament to their determination and resilience which they have developed through studying at TCES and the support given by our staff along the way. They now have many more opportunities open to them as they progress into their next steps within education either as members of our own sixth form, moving to other specialist provisions or returning to mainstream college. Seeing the happiness and delight in students opening their envelopes today is what makes this profession so worthwhile.
