Student Council & Managing Development Group
The elected Student Council plays a pivotal role in school for our pupils. They have been speaking with their peers to find out what they feel would benefit the school community. As a result of these consultations, the Student Council has requested a fish tank for the school to enjoy as pupils feel it would create a calming and relaxing atmosphere.
The Council also coordinated various charity events including Children in Need, and they suggested ice skating over the Christmas period, which was greatly enjoyed by all. The effect of the positive culture carriers on our Student Council permeates through the school and their well-doing is greatly valued.
More recently, in May 2017, the Student Council meeting was chaired by Lisa Hosking and Matt White and attended by three pupils. Topics for discussion included the forthcoming Celebration Day, outdoor bench and table tennis, bring your pet to school for the day and residential trip to Mersia.
The council will re-convene in a few weeks’ time, with suggestions that members of the council bring forward further ideas to the meeting, with added responsibility for each Council member within the school.
