TCES Group was originally formed in 2000 as a direct response to Local Authority requests to provide education packages for excluded and non-attending pupils. Since then our services have evolved into a series of highly focussed Integrated Schools Services formally registered with the Department for Education and Ofsted as Independent Special Schools. Additionally TCES Group provides a highly specialised service called Create for pupils whose complex needs and risk or at risk profiles indicate they cannot be educated in small groups or classroom settings.
In 2006 TCES group was awarded a five-year contract with Essex County Council to deliver education services to 40 pupils with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) statements. A large proportion were also Looked After Children. This was the most significant independently contracted service of its type in the United Kingdom and is where our first school was successfully registered with Ofsted. We currently continue to hold this contract with Essex CC until at least 2017 and received an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ with two of the four standards being judged ‘outstanding’; Pupil Behaviour and Safety and Leadership and Management in September 2014.
Alongside our Essex school we have since opened SEMH Schools across London in Ealing and Newham. Our most recent formal opening was the opening of our first standalone Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) school called Custom House in the borough of Newham. This school is part of the East London Independent School which was rated as an ‘Outstanding’ school in April 2014.
All previous and recent Ofsted inspections confirm our schools are within the top 2% of Independent Special Schools in the Country.
