The TCES Group Socio-Educational Model
A substantial number of pupils who are referred to theTCES Group are Looked After Children or Children in Need. Many of our pupils have had other involvement with Social Services and some will be involved in the youth justice system. A number of our pupils have had highly negative views of education with significant gaps and long periods of disengagement.
TCES Group Integrated Schools Services are designed to meet these pupils’ most basic physiological, safety and belonging needs, often through intensive individual staffing, before pupils are able to move towards independent learning in groups. The model demonstrates how we are able to meet our pupils’ often very basic needs, ensuring that they are enabled to begin the important task of learning with targeted support in their pastoral, social and health needs.
