Company History

  • Parent Company, Transitional Care Ltd, was formed on 5th November 1999.
     
  • TC Education Services (TCES) our education sub-division was created in 2000 to respond to Local Authority (LA) requests to provide one to one education packages for excluded and non-attending pupils.
     
  • TCES launches a range of alternative education group projects in 2001 following the success of our one to one provisions.
     
  • TCES was commissioned from 2002 to 2004 to run a variety of alternative education group projects in the following Local Authorities (LAs): Barking & Dagenham, Hammersmith and Fulham, Brent, Richmond upon Thames, Hertfordshire and Merton. This list is not exhaustive. Our alternative education programmes are run by the London Education Services from their offices in Vauxhall, London. 
  • TCES won a 5 year national tender contract with Essex County Council to deliver alternative education to 40 BESD pupils who are statemented and or Looked After Children (Children in public care). 
  • TCES registered our first Independent Day Special School in Essex County Council with the DCSF in January 2007. We were inspected by Ofsted in December 2007 and received a 'Good' with some 'Outstanding' features report.
  • TCES opened our second Independent Day Special School in North West London in September 2008 and was successfully registered by Ofsted in February 2009.
  • TCES have also opened School Outreach and Community Outreach Service programmes in September 2008, which are attached to our North West London and Essex schools.
  • TCES opens its first Education Outreach Service Centre in East London in May 2009.
  • TCES opens its third Independent Day Special School in East London in September 2009 and was successfully registered by Ofsted in November 2009 with no required action plan. We were inspected by Ofsted in March 2010 and received a 'Good' with some 'Outstanding' features report. 
  • TCES registers a new school site in Colchester, Essex called Quayside House and increases the Key Stages from KS4 to KS2, 3 and 4 following a material change inspection by Ofsted. There was no required action plan.
  •  TCES recieves highest Ofsted inspection report for Essex Fresh Start - deeming four of the five measurable standards to be Outstanding.

» Red Nose Day
Artist Jonathan D. Boast and pupils from EFS Chelmsford, Harlow and Clacton present an exhibition surrealist canvases created over the past two months. All work is for sale and proceeds go to the Red Nose Day charity.View the pupils work now...

» Raising of the Participation Age (RPA)
In line with the raising of the participation age (RPA) all TCES School have been registered to take Year 12 pupils since September 2012.
